Since joining Mental Health Media in 2001, Head of Communications, Kate Summerside, has played a key role in supporting and promoting the voices and experiences of mental health service users and survivors.
Her role has included managing the highly successful Media Bureau; a training and support service which enables mental health service users and survivors to communicate confidently and effectively through the media.
Prior to joining Mental Health Media, Kate had gained over ten years PR and communications experience from both the private and voluntary sectors with a particular focus on awareness raising and campaigning.
Kate’s approach and commitment has been informed by her own direct experience of using psychiatric services.
